 Brisbane is a
modern and vibrant city, blessed with a subtropical climate of warm summers
and cool, sunny winters. As the capital of Queensland, Brisbane is one of the
most popular places to live in Australia. The city is clean and safe, and is easy
to travel around because of its comprehensive public transport system. Almost
two million people live in Brisbane and its surrounding areas.
Brisbane is an hour’s drive from the world-famous Gold and Sunshine
Coasts. The islands of Moreton Bay and Stradbroke are also nearby, and offer
some of the world’s finest surfing beaches as well as a wide variety of water
sports. The Great Barrier Reef and the Australian outback are within relatively
easy reach of Brisbane. Sydney is just over an hour away by plane, and Melbourne is just
two hours away by plane.
