QUTIC Standard 10 Monitoring Course Progress

QUTIC Intervention Strategies
* Standard 10
Standard 11

[Print-friendly version]

Students will be advised of QUT International College (QUTIC)’s intervention strategies and their obligations in relation to these strategies during orientation.

Students should begin each study period with a full standard program appropriate to their course.

QUTIC initiates an intervention strategy for international students at risk of meeting satisfactory course progress requirements through unsatisfactory academic performance and/or 'at risk' of meeting satisfactory course progress indicators. The indicators are identified from monitor reports generated from the student and academic management system.

Students who are identified in the above processes will be notified of their status and advised to seek assistance from their Course Coordinator for coursework options and revised study plans.

It is imperative that students who are at risk of not meeting satisfactory course progress due to personal issues seek additional support from QUTIC Welfare staff or QUT International Student Services. Early intervention and prevention is highly encouraged.

Students will expect to receive notification from QUTIC Administration:

Upon release of results where they have not achieved a minimum grade of 4 in each unit in each teaching period. Students will be given notice of an appointment with their Course Coordinator for assistance in meeting course progress requirements. Notice of a revised appointment will be sent to students who failed to make contact.

In week 1 of each semester where their enrolment program does not allow them to complete by their e-CoE end date and an intervention strategy or compelling circumstances have not been identified or recorded. Students will be given notice of an appointment with their Course Coordinator for assistance in meeting course progress requirements. Notice of a revised appointment will be sent to students who failed to make contact.

In Week 5, students who have not amended their enrolment program will be notified of cancellation of their enrolment and e-CoE and intention to report to Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).
